Hillary for the Supreme Court: The Verdict

While there are certainly good arguments to be made on both sides of the issue – and I hope I have made them all! – I think that ultimately, putting Sen. Clinton the Supreme Court would be a huge mistake for President Obama both in the shortterm and the longterm. There would be too much to lose for Obama, many Senators, and the Democratic Party as a whole, and too little to be gained. While the appointment would be a home run for liberals and women, there are plenty of other more experienced and less polarizing individuals who could be put on the High Court at less cost for the Democrats. For these reasons, I think it is extremely unlikely Hillary Clinton will ever be put on the Supreme Court by President Obama.
